Had an error trying to install the tune but unitronic got back with me very fast and remedied the issue over the phone. Happy with the tune, definitely gives the car for power. Pulls harder in the 3-4K rpm range. I’d love to go stage 2 but I don’t have access to 93 octane which sucks. Also would probably need a new clutch. However I’m happy with the car as it is now. Installed with an intake and r8 coils and ngk plugs. Also put in throttle pipe, discharge pipe and diverter valve. Way more fun to drive!

Let’s see... where to begin. I purchased this software with the cable. 1, it arrived amazingly fast! Like 2 days fast. Matter of fact, everything I’ve ordered from Modded Euros has been delivered in 2-3 business days. And that’s been 3 different orders. And 2 of them were sizeable packages.

I oredered this up (and also now have the CTS Turbo catback exhaust AND the Unitronic cold air intake, both of which are still NOT installed due to issues getting garage time). After getting impatient, I installed the software, wanting more out of my MK6 GTI now.

Wow! What a difference! Acceleration, throttle response... it seems even the electronic controlled steering and braking are all much more responsive. It’s been but a week running the stage 1 but it’s almost like driving a different car. Now, I have yet to get to driving somewhere appropriate to see if the governor and speed limiter are in fact removed/bypassed/deleted, whatever you want to call it.

However... it should be made clear. You MUST be prepared to replace your ignition coils I would say IF... you’re doing this on a “less than new” vehicle. I would call that anything with more than 20k on the odometer. My car has roughly 67k and the very next day my OEM Bosch coils (2 of them), took a crap. Right when I was trying to merge on an expressway. Scary if you haven’t had this happen before & know what it is. But ignition coils seem to be a VW gremlin all the way around. Ever since my 4th gen Passat anyway.

Also, I’m confused about the “claim to improve gas mileage and/or consumption”. I’ll be keeping a close eye & logging numbers in the next weeks to come, but it seems my tank emptied a little quicker this week. I haven’t driven the car any differently than before the software flash. And honestly, as a butcher who is the son of a Bosch Engineer, automotive division North America. Oh... and his specialties are Fuel Injection, Emmissions and Brakes, I don’t understand the idea and claim that producing MORE power will decrease fuel consumption. Sorry, simply does not compute. But like I said, i’ll Watch and log closely over the next several weeks.

That all being said, if you want your car to go faster, feel better and overall be more fun to drive... get this software/cable package.

First of all, this is a great product. It is of good quality, very easy to install, and does what it says it does. I recommend this to anyone who feels like they need or want more power in their car without having to do any hardware upgrades. I daily drive a mk6 gti in California, this mod makes driving so much easier and enjoyable. The hp gain and torque game is very noticeable. In addition, I also feel like I have smoother gear shifts (manual). I would have gotten stage 1+ but the highest octane in California is 91 so I couldn't. I honestly think that this car should have come stock with this extra boost. NOTE: you have to buy the uniconnect device with the software so that you can download the software into your ECU with your laptop and the OBDII port.
