Unitronic® is proud to release the Cat-Back Exhaust System for the MK8 GTI® equipped with the 2.0TSI EVO4 engine. This Cat-Back Exhaust System features 3-inch T304 Stainless Steel mandrel bent tubing, high density, high-temperature glass fiber packed mufflers, and high-quality v-band fasteners with T316 Stainless Steel flanges. Exiting at the rear, 4" polished chrome tips with engraved Unitronic logos are standard, while 4" black PVD tips with engraved Unitronic logos are optional. These attributes, combined with extensive R&D testing, help ensure perfect fitment and maximum performance while maintaining a comfortable but enhanced exhaust tone that isn't obtrusive inside the cabin of the MK8 GTI.

Operations start with 3D scanning the engine bay, exhaust tunnel, and OEM components of the MK8 GTI with its in-house Creaform 3D scanner. Once 3D scan data has been collected and processed, Unitronic Hardware Engineers then interact with the 3D models to identify fitment constraints, mounting locations, other component locations, etc., to ensure the final product fits perfectly within the “envelope”, while achieving the objectives and intent of the product.

Throughout this MK8 GTI Cat-Back Exhaust System's research and development phase, the sound inside and outside the cabin are also critical factors. Unitronic mufflers feature high-density, high-temperature glass fiber packing and ensure maximum performance and a sportier sound while maintaining a comfortable tone inside the cabin. At the rear, exhaust gasses pass through dual 4” slash cut tips featuring engraved Unitronic logos for a more aggressive, motorsport-inspired look.

Unitronic Exhaust Systems also feature a unique sealing v-band fastening system, using T316 stainless steel flanges and a locking ring to guarantee a centric alignment of the two v-band flanges, ensuring a leak-proof connection every time.
