Description

Engineered for HP modifications. This Heavy Duty Pressure Plate has an increased clamp load with little or no increase in pedal pressure. The Organic disc material has a high metal content that increases the coefficient of friction by two times over a stock lining and increases rotational strength up to a 12,000 RPM burst point. This clutch system maintains a stock feel while offering strength and durability.

Torque Rating of 325 ft-lbs.

Recommended usage is daily, street and moderate race.

Flywheel Features

  • Flywheels manufactured by SBC are made from low carbon, hot rolled steel that is highly resistant to warping and perfectly suited for the friction materials mated to them.
  • Single mount CNC machining guarantees precise tolerances and perfect balance exceeding O.E. specifications.
  • Extensive field testing has been done to determine the proper weight for each specific vehicle and to ensure smooth operation, safety and durability under extreme operating conditions.

Don't Forget to upgrade your rear main seal while installing your clutch! 

Why? 

The most common cause of rear main seal failure is a faulty PCV valve. The TSI engine is known to have PCV valve failures, which will cause an excess crankcase pressure. This is more pressure than the rear main seal can handle. This can cause check engine lights or mysterious oil leaks. 

- This seal is only accessible once the transmission and flywheel are removed making it a good idea to replace it while installing a new clutch!

  • Great Upgrade

    Needed something to hold some additional power. The single mass flywheel is excellent, much better than the DMFW stock. Really like this clutch kit. The stage 2 is very easy to modulate, but pull the restrictor in the slave cylinder immediately, really improves the clutch feel.

    Get this clutch! My Golf S was a leftover price leader at my local dealer. It had sat for over a year and only had 9 miles on it. The throw out bearing or DMF always ticked at idle and the already numb MK7 clutch was erratic and vague. Still the clutch held up, until APR 93 octane Stage 1 tune was installed. I was nervous about noise with the SMF, but honestly so far it is quieter and definitely better feel. Next is the clutch hydraulic reducer removal and maybe a steel braided line. Very happy with the part and ME service.
