  • Review shared from Solo Werks S1 Coilovers - FWD w/ Rear Multi-Link (06-13 A3, 08-09 TT, MK5 & MK6 Golf/GTI/Jetta)

8k miles later I am still extremely impressed, I ended up taking out the helper springs and removing the rear perches to sit where I want, but they ride just like they did with all that in. I still cant get over the ride quality of these as low as the car is. Still no bouncing or jarring over bad bumps.

I waited almost a month before i wrote the review because I wanted it to settle and readjust. The ride quality is quite good. Its very close to stock on smooth roads but much harsher on rougher roads, but compared to my friends 1.5k coilovers, it feels about the same. (his is all the way down). I tried out the cornering improvement and there was a definite increase in stiffness and decrease in body roll. obvious and expected but had to make sure

Love my new S1 coilovers. Installed them in my MK6 GTI and like the drop and ride comfort.

Can't beat this. Needed a set of coils that wouldn't break the bank for my GTI and after reading on the forums decided to go with these.

Solo Werks S1 Coilovers - FWD

Good set of coilovers, can't beat the price for 500$ . Friend has H&R ultra lows and payed 1500$, he drove mine and said its almost equal ride quality. Only upside to his is that he can go slammed. These solo werks are good for just getting rid of the wheel gap which is all i needed, don't want to go lower.

    Great package, awesome price

Just installed these on my mk6 GLI and am very impressed with how the car feels. Bodyroll is gone, not bouncy at all. Suspension is comfortable for daily driving just a bit more agressive. Height adjustments were fairly easy for me being a beginner in this type of mod. I recommend this product and you just can't beat the price.

    Great!!

I was originally on the market for ST's but missed them on sale. This was my second option and after many many reviews and bought them. Right from the start i noticed the suspension was firm. They ride very much like stock but handle like coilovers should. on rough roads there is a slight bounce, very minimal and not enough to annoy you. Mine didnt come with helper spings and now that they have settled, they feel even netter. Wish i bought them sooner!

Great but if you're looking to go low get ST's

Ride pretty good and stiff but not too stiff. Wish it went lower but that's my fault not the coilovers.

    Mk6 GTI

I wanted to wait for the coilovers to settle before writing a review and all I can say is they are great, I couldn’t be any happier with these set up and the price. Coming from having H&R SS Springs and Koni Shocks to Solo Werks S1 coilovers is a big difference in the ride and the drop is perfect. I definitely recommend these coilovers and can’t be the price if your not trying to break the bank.

    Great choice for the price.

Installed on my 2013 gen 3 gli. Handles way tighter than my shock and lowering spring setup, and the adjustability factor is nice. A little rough on bumps but can't complain so far for the price. No option for it, but my true rating is 4.5/5. Would not recommend against buying them for $500 shipped.

    Great Bang For Your Buck

Got for 2016 Jetta S. They ride great and meet the expectations that I had for the price. Unfortunately, I received the kit for the heavier wagen. Which made my rear drop not what was advertised. Thankfully, just an email over to Solo Werks and they were able to confirm that I had the wrong set and send me the correct rear springs. Amazing guys.

    Audi A3 2012

I’m coming from used st coilovers which where AMAZING! With that said these coilovers are DOPE. They are stiff and comfy a great ride and feel. I live Upstate NY in a mountainous region and I love the performance. A great buy for style or if your a weekend warrior who loves a good mountain run.

    Solo Werk Coils

I purchased these coils for my 2017 vw jetta se. Iam very pleased with how fast everything came as always. But when a buddy and I went to go install the coils the springs would not fit onto the strut mount. Also the rear springs rub on stock control arms. I would recommend buying a set that is already put together.

I’m a solo werks boy now

Love these solo werks coilovers not too soft not too stiff but they are just right and at a price that you can’t beat! Hard off to modded euros as well for getting them to me a whole day earlier!

    Better than stock

I recently bought these for my 2016 GLI after having success with them on my mk6 GTI. NOT the same performance however... Though I don't hate them, there is a lot more bounce to them than i had previously experienced. Im assuming this is because my GTI was lighter in weight. Install on the rear was a breeze though i did need an impact gun for the strut mounts. However the front gave me a bit of a fight. If you do not want to curse as much, i suggest removing the axle bolt. My rear are set to 24.75 FTG (which is as low as it will travel) while my fronts are around 24.5. It handles so much better and i dont feel like my car is leaving the ground when going over a large dip or an overpass (Jersey roads are trash). But as expected with a low budget, non rebound adjusting coil, there is some slight harness when hitting irregularities in the road. I like them for now but I will be selling them in favor of BC's just so i have the adjustable rebound option.
