Description
NEUSPEED's IS38 Front Mount InterCooler (FMIC) kit for the VW MK7 GTI was completely redesigned for vehicles with larger turbo conversions, a longer core and newly designed end tanks with larger inlet and outlet to work best with the higher HP output.
This kit was specifically made for MK7 GTI's with the IS38 turbo upgrade. The IS38 Turbo is equipped on the MK7 Golf R and 8V S3 from the factory.
This Is a bolt on application that has been tested for fit and finish by Neuspeed.
Not only does Neuspeed test for perfect fitment but performance as well. This intercooler will help to cool off the intake charge allowing for more consistent power on high horsepower application.
The highly efficient cast aluminum end-tanks and bar-and-plate core design place this FMIC kit well above others currently in the market, especially compared to the inferior ‘factory’ style upgrades. ‘Factory’ style intercooler system is sandwiched between two hot radiators; A/C condenser and coolant radiator. On top of its limited exposure by the grill opening (bumper covers half of the factory intercooler’s active surface), the restricted location behind A/C condenser, and constant radiant heat from the two radiators make the factory style intercooler extremely inefficient – Simply common sense! There's a reason why racecars use 'Front' mount and not 'Middle' mount.
NEUSPEED FMIC fills the lower bumper opening with its twice-thick core and sits in front of the two radiators exposing it first hand to cool and unrestricted air flow makes this FMIC kit the ultimate forced induction cooling system!

Overpriced and cheap boost pipes
When ya spend 835 bucks on a fmic you kinda expect quality boost pipes not some cheap 3 ply rubber ones , fmic is38 w sai looks cheap , is tiny for price , if i could do over i wouldnt touch this , install was ok directions could use improvement , if it was 400 bu ks it would be perfectly priced ,

This kit is excellent. Best fitting easy to install aftermarket anything honestly. Top notch parts fitment. The only trimming is inside the front bumper to allow the hoses to attach. Two hours I was done. The other nice thing is it pretty much allows you to be able to upgrade to a larger core in the future if need be. I know the core isn't as large as some of the cores that go in the factory position but there is zero heat soak unlike the other cores and the CFm is much better due to the design. Zero lag increase actually it was lag decrease. Not to mention I'm running the smaller turbo for right now just saving up for the is38. The only reason to go for the other cores honestly is stealth. This cooler worked so well that it was 30 degrees f hotter and I only lost 1.3 mph vs stock core at 60 degrees outside. If that was my stock cooler is be running 5-6 mph slower at least.
