IE Performance Tuning For VW MK7/MK7.5 GTI & 8V A3 Quattro
Adding an IE Performance ECU Tune to your GTI or A3 packs a serious punch both in performance gains and in additional features resulting in extremely competitive power that will give you the edge on the street or track. IE’s in-house calibration engineers have taken several steps to ensure you a smooth and safe operation by maintaining factory safety limits, or “fail safes”, resulting in reliability. As a final step, the software has been calibrated in test environments that ensure smooth operation in all types of climates and elevations.

- Trueflex Sensor Harness Kit (required for Trueflex only)

- DSG tune - IE Part Number: IESOCIX1 or IESOVX3 (required for DSG vehicles) - or clutch upgrade for manual vehicles.
IE STAGE 2
IE Stage 2 software is for full bolt-on stock turbo builds running an aftermarket racing downpipe. IE calibrators use advanced tuning strategies to extract additional power and account for the increased flow from an upgraded downpipe and performance hardware. The required hardware upgrades for stage 2 will increase airflow, exhaust flow, lower intake air temps, provide faster IAT recovery, and produce an overall more efficient and faster vehicle on the stock IHI IS20 turbocharger.
High/Low Torque Files
IE High Torque ECU calibrations maximize power gains throughout the entire powerband which quickly exceeds the torque limitations of the factory DSG calibration (auto trans) or the stock clutch (manual trans) that leads to clutch slipping. Stage 1 and Stage 2 files include optional Low Torque files for vehicles with stock DSG tune or stock clutch. Both high and low torque files are included and can be switched between as often as you like.
High Torque files require the additional purchase of a DSG transmission tune or clutch upgrade.
Features & Options
Trueflex Ethanol
E85 fuel unlocks the most performance potential from our ECU tunes for your GTI or A3 Gen 3 engine. Ethanol contains tons of oxygen, burns cooler, and has a high resistance to knock. This provides more horsepower and torque than running conventional gasoline and is more readily available (in most states) and less expensive than race gas. IE TrueFlex calibrations take this a step further and allow for 91 octane all the way up to full E85 or anything in between on one tune without the need to reflash! TrueFlex is an included option with all stages.
Increased RPM
To take advantage of the new larger power band, factory rev limits have been raised to 7000RPM in all stages. On DSG equipped cars, the transmission will shift slightly before the new engine RPM (6900RPM).
DSG Tune is required to unlock higher RPM.
Exhaust Crackle
IE Exhaust Crackle feature adds an addicitng motorsport-inspired crackle sound to your exhaust note when you let off the accelerator or downshift above 3K RPM. This feature is active in Sport Mode or Sport Manual Mode so you can enjoy this feature when you want, and stay civil when you need it.
For the most aggressive pops and bangs an aftermarket catback system is recommended.
Brake Boost
Brake Boosting provides a competitive edge in a roll racing scenario. While maintaining a constant speed and throttle position, apply brake pressure with the left foot to build boost at speed resulting in a rolling launch when brake pressure is released.
Reliability Testing
IE's fully proven software brings track-ready ECU programming to your EA888 Gen3 IS20 turbocharged 2.0T engine while retaining factory comfort and reliability. IE's own tuning technology suite is used to completely reverse-engineer the factory ECU mapping, allowing our software engineers access to realign all safety protocols and sensors for the new performance calibration. Every tune parameter undergoes months of testing on our in-house dyno systems that utilize the world's only Sea Level Generator developed specifically to verify tune operations in any condition. IE's own in-house developed POWERlink cable gives you the control to unlock your engine’s true potential from your own garage or driveway. Enjoy the freedom to quickly reflash your car’s engine control unit (ECU) or transmission control unit (TCU) with IE’s line of performance tunes. The cable simply plugs into your vehicle’s OBD-2 port delivering instant access to choose different IE Tune stages to match installed hardware, take advantage of different fuel octanes, flash back to stock, perform engine diagnostics, read/clear codes and gather high-quality operating data via logging.

The software is very simple to use and once installed will walk you through the fast tuning process to deliver instant horsepower.
Technical Features
Dynometer Optimized
After completely reverse engineering the factory ECU, our engineers use our in-house Dynapack DP42 dynamometer to perform repeated runs to test each change that is made to the software and confirm drivability in any situation. This ensures IE performance software delivers massive horsepower and torque increases across the entire powerband. Using our in-house dyno and advanced tuning tools, IE engineers have fully optimized every aspect of the factory ECU mapping on many different vehicles. This produces a tune that retains all factory like driving and safety protocols when needed, and an intense surge of power when you want it.
Removed Speed Limiter
The factory ECU speed limiter has been removed to make sure the increased power and torque can be used to its full potential on straightaways and drag strips.
Increased Rev Limit
With the significant power increase, the rev limiter is also increased to allow a wider powerband on all IE Audi A3 files. By increasing the rev limit, you gain a perfect match for the increased performance available from your new IE performance software tune.
Improved Throttle Response
To further increase the responsive feel of the car, IE engineers have carefully adjusted the throttle sensitivity. This offers a more connected feeling to your car with plenty of power available right beneath your foot.
Optimized Fueling
All IE tunes have been adjusted to run as economically as possible, dialing in air/fuel ratios to exactly where they need to be. With an IE performance ECU flash, it is common to see increased fuel economy under cruising and part-throttle driving.
