Description
These engines come from the factory with no diverter valve of any kind, which results in turbo compressor surge every time the throttle is closed after boosting.
The intake is acoustically tuned to suppress the fluttering sound of compressor surge, but it does not eliminate the effect of pressure pulses – that is what diverter and blow-off valves were originally designed to do.
The GFB VTA re-introduces a blow-off valve into the 1.2/1.4 TSI system, which eliminates compressor surge to protect the turbo, and delivers the signature blow-off “whoosh” when lifting off the throttle.
Because these engines do not run a MAF sensor, there is no chance of adverse drivability or fuelling issues.
The VTA clips directly into the turbo’s charge piping, replacing a short plastic joiner with a billet CNC machined section onto which the VTA mounts. The kit also includes a boost tee and vacuum hose that clips onto one of the manifold vacuum ports to source a vacuum signal for the VTA valve. This boost tee has a second port that can be used to connect a boost gauge (not included), or plugged off if not required.
The whole kit can be fitted in minutes with no tools.

Blow off valve
The product works as should sounds louder than most other blow off valves I’ve heard. Only thing is it’s not mentioned in the instructions that you have to take out your air intake to be able to access the vacuum tap like. Also the vacuum tap causes the line to press against a radiator line which I’m not sure how long that’ll be good for. But over all great product. Sturdy

Solid product
Very happy with my purchase. It came in less than 48 hours. Took me a minute to get the adapter on but once I did the rest was easy. You can definitely hear the “whoosh” when you let of the pedal. Highly recommend if you’re thinking about getting a blow off valve.

Good product if you are keeping stock
I bought it about a year ago and I am really happy with the sound it produces. It's always important to remember that there are practically no power gains/effects from adding this onto your vehicle.
Pros: Good sound, easy for boost tap, easy to install
Cons: if you are running extra boost from stock, be careful with the metal arms that attach itself. Mine popped off on both sides, bursting the rubber circle gaskets that keeps it air tight. My workaround for this was just by adding two zip ties to each arm for more of a hug around the pipes.

Awesome sound
If your looking for that whoooosh sound this is perfect it's easy to install took 15 to 25 min great instructions as well the only thing it doesn't tell you is that the factory airbox or aftermarket intake has to come off to access those plastic hose to run the boost tap line that's provided other then that taking a lil while to figure out its a easy install.
