GFB’s DV+ design solves the longevity and boost leaking issues that are common with factory diverter valves, and also changes the operation method to “pilot actuation” (read about this below) to ensure better performance on stock or modified engines.

WHY NOT JUST USE A SPACER?

There are many “BOV spacers” on the market that make noise. However, they do this simply by using the factory diverter valve and redirecting the air to atmosphere. Therefore, the performance deficiencies of the factory diverter valve design remain, and furthermore, the flow capacity of the factory diverter is significantly reduced because of the small venting holes used in these BOV spacers.

 ECU VS VACUUM CONTROL

Other BOV kits eliminate the ECU control entirely, using pure manifold vacuum control instead. Whilst there’s nothing particularly wrong with this (that’s how the majority of BOVs work), the ECU control is MUCH FASTER, able to detect and respond to much SMALLER THROTTLE TRANSITIONS and, since it’s available, why wouldn’t you use it?

 WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT OUR VENTING BIAS SYSTEM?

GFB’s patented Venting Bias Adjustment System is the only one of its kind in the world. By using an internal rotating sleeve, the opening of both the recirculate port and the atmosphere port can be infinitely adjusted. This means that you’re not stuck with a fixed 50/50 or 100% atmosphere venting ratio; you can change it to whatever you want! As an additional benefit, because the atmosphere outlet is a single large port rather than a series of small holes, the venting sound is much DEEPER AND LOUDER than it is with a BOV spacer.

    Installed the GFB DVX+ on my stage 2 golf r, and it sounded pretty cool. Went to stage 3 a short time later, and APR and the installer recommended the stock diverter valve so that was what they installed. My performance was lackluster on the stage 3. I was very disappointed with the results. I installed a P3 gauge and realized my boost was limited to 26 psi. After confirming with APR that the boost should be much higher, I replaced my Rev C DV with a rev D DV, and it still had the same boost. Boost leak checks didn't find anything. Since I had the GFB DVX+, I put it in and instantly my boost shot up!!!! This DV will hold boost to at least 43psi! After I readjusted the waste gate actuator ( did I say the APR approved installer never installed their Stage 3 kit) to quicker actuation and limit boost to around 36PSI, I was very pleased. I have since tried 3 other manufacture DV's and none of them hold boost at stage 3. I do notice the seal on the GFB is much better to the turbo housing then others I have tested. If this problem sounds like yours, then get this DV, you won't be disappointed. One downfall I have on this DV is that I do get some boost leak when I adjust the volume control for maximum noise. Turning off from maximum noise and boost holds to 36psi daily. I waited to give this review to make sure my problem was actually fixed. Any DV that is using the force of a spring to limit boost really didn't perform very well at stage 3 performance levels. Get this DV+, it works, sounds cool and holds boost.
