Description
High friction formula give an improvement of 30-40% over OE brake pads
EBC Yellowstuff 1793 compound is a true winner all round, it has high friction from cold, not requiring warm up for street use yet when loaded up and really hot the brakes just get better.
Even up to truck weights these pads grip and do not heat fade. They also suitable for Trackday & Drift racing.
EBC yellows are ECE Brake safety tested which means they must work perfectly from cold at least as good or better than stock pads.
When Yellowstuff see some heat (which is not tested for in the ECE R 90 brake safety regulations) they really show their pedigree.
On Japanese cars built with lower friction FF rated pads these deliver a full grade higher stopping and on German cars built with GG these are about the only aftermarket pads that will match or beat the pretty good German OE spec pads and that takes some doing.

Good Pads for Lower Speed Tracks
Mk7 GTI Sport. Installed EBC Yellows on the front and rear. Ran at Summit Main and Shenandoah, Main having a higher top speed than Shenandoah (125-ish) but only the one big braking zone. Pads worked great. No fade. Rotor friendly. Quiet enough to run on the street and not change pads between track days. Held up for most of a season (maybe 6 track days.) Put new ones on (this is where the break in compound is sub-optimal as the rotors were already good for yellows.) One day at Shenandoah and then off to VIR. One day at VIR and they were toast. Two long straights with hard stops from 120-130 mph is apparently more than these pads can handle. Ended up with material spalling off the pads. They still stopped fine with no fade, but ate through most of the pads in one day because of the spalling. So the failure mode is very forgiving as regards performance. Pedal feel and modulation were good, though they did take some time to recover their initial cold stopping power after the track days. I definitely recommend these pads for AutoX or lower speed tracks, just check them between sessions on longer/higher speed tracks and bring a spare pair, just in case. NB - I haven't tried full race pads, so I only have these and OEM as a comparison.
