Better breathing
My idle improved at start up, getting 32 mpg - paired with the inlet hose - gives a great tone and slight turbo sound - also revs are quicker. The car woke up.

Poor fit
The part is of poor quality. 1 of 3 retiner tabs looks too skinny -- the whole pipe is a little wobbly. It will either get returned or get recycled.

Cts turbo inlet pipe
Very pleased with my new Inlet pipe all though installing was quite difficult, it made a huge difference pulling. Overall a lot more fun;)

Easy Install and Car feels incredible.
Easy to install. Car feels amazing and sounds great. I bought together the CTS Turbo inlet pipe, CTS Turbo Intake, and ECS Tuning DV spacer (from ECS tuning site) and my 2016 Audi a3 sounds and feels AMAZING. Thank you ModdedEuros!
ps. Shipping was super fast too. Items got here days before estimated arrival.

Great fit, and easy install
I purchased this to replace a no-name version which fit poorly, and had had to be sealed with black silicone gasket maker. Needless to say, fitment was much better on this one. Looks good too.

Easy Install
This was a quick install when you know what your working with.

Excellent!
Simple install! Well worth it! Significant increase in pipe diameter.

Works As Expected On My '19 GLI
Very simple install and a pretty obvious difference in turbo spool and throttle reaction across the mid and higher RPMs. Paired mine up with the aFe Momentum GT intake and I love hearing the turbo spool as well as the diverter purge through both of them!

Good but better with mod
I love this. Can definitely feel the power gains. I think this is because i did the polish mod to this inlet mod and that alone probably dropped another 100ms off my turbo lag. Thanks to other reviewers for pointing this out. And i dont care what its made of, its hard and big so it gets the job done.

Great item
I have a 2019 GTI SE (manual). Good quality. Not sure if made a huge difference...maybe a little more spool sounding, but very slight. Not a very hard install, takes a little time just like everything else you do on your car.

Damaged lip on inlet pipe
Just as the title states, the pipe I received had a damaged lip. Whether it was through shipping or the product itself is difficult to say. However, if I was to guess, the shipping was probably to blame. More specifically, the item was not packed very well. The item was in a flimsy box with the tape barely holding it together. It was wrapped in what appeared to be bubble-wrap but there was no cushioning (bubbles if you will) to be had. The "bubbles" were completely flat.
I still installed the piece and it is working fine with no leaks, but seeing the item misshapen was a little disheartening.

Don't bother polishing it!
I feel compelled to leave a review mainly to correct the misconception that the interior surface needs to be smooth -- it's actually ADVANTAGIOUS to leave a slightly rough surface because it "detaches" the flow along the walls. If you don't believe me, check out the infographic for the MK7 intake on APR's website -- they leave the interior surface rough intentionally.
Installation was harder than advertised because of the pain that removing the PCV pipe is. I opted to remove the inlet and PCV pipe assembly so I could separate them while holding onto both components, which required loosening the ignition harness and disconnecting a number of wiring connections. I considered knocking off a star for that, but it's not the fault CTS, it would be the same for any manufacturer.

Decent product for the price, but needs polishing
Like others have mentioned the product comes with some overspray inside the pipe. I used a high grit sanding bit on a dremel to sand down the rougher areas (be sure to wear a mask), and then used a polishing bit with some polish to make it pretty smooth. The difference is pretty staggering and in the transition area, especially, it's now very smooth. I agree with another reviewer that a plastic piece would have been much better than metal.
On the positive side of things, the piece was relatively inexpensive, and the throttle improvement is pretty drastic. Logging the delay on a stage 2 gti between throttle input and start of boost build, i went from over 300ms lag to a bit over 100ms. I went from being slightly behind a group of grand sport c7 corvettes at my track to ahead of all but the one guy on hoosiers and one in a z06. The days were different, but comparing my times to them before and them the second time, I gained about 1.5 seconds on a track that normally runs high 1s to low 2s. Building boost with left foot braking takes less time, and i have to feather the throttle a lot more to keep the rotation going through the corner.
I recommend this mod for anyone looking to reduce lag or frustrated by the amount of time to build boost when left foot braking. I would not recommend this to anyone sensitive to NVH, drivers just starting out on track or autocross, or anyone just doing street driving.

CTS turbo inlet pipe
Inlet pipe was delivered in good condition. The install was straight forward. And can feel some power gains. Good quality product that won’t disappoint. Highly recommended.

great piece for reducing some turbo lag
The throttle is definitely more responsive with this part. I logged some before and after, and found that the boost starts to build about 100ms sooner than it used to when transitioning from no throttle to throttle on. That's a relatively drastic change. On a 14 corner track, that adds up to 1.4 seconds reduction in throttle off time.
I knocked off a start for two things. The inside lip that goes from the pipe to the turbo has a small ridge, but it's fairly smooth, most air should be deflected by the pipe wall before it really gets there. While the outside black finish is nice, there was a lot of overspray into the pipe itself and the inside was not smooth at all. I'm not sure how smooth comparable pipes are, but this was pretty rough, and would have been a lot better if it was designed out of a solid plastic piece. I see no advantage to this being metal, and only disadvantages. I took a dremel with a polishing tip and polished the entire inside and inside lip. It's now super smooth, and I'm confident it flows a lot better than before.

Well built part
I’m sure most people know about the restrictions of the factory inlet. This obviously opens things up a bit. I’m not sure you’d see any noticeable gains from just an inlet but this coupled with a closed intake and you may see some gains. Fairly straightforward to install. 5mm Torx, rotate it clockwise and it pops out. Swap the O-ring (why they don’t give you a new one is beyond me) and reinstall the same way. Factory PCV hose can take some doing getting off. Rotate it slightly while pulling towards the battery and it should come off. That was the hardest part for me. Depending on your mileage there may be some oil in the old inlet. Mine had a light coating. I didn’t notice any increased induction noises but I did get a bump in fuel mileage.

Great little mod it makes a small sound difference and you can feel a bit of a faster spool.
-
I don't know how much this product did because it was put in inconjuntion with the K&N Cold Air Intake. But smother transitions and larger openings will really help later down the road. Easy to install and the feels like a quality product.

nice product
very easy to install. have to use a pry bar to pry out the hose connector, it impossible to remove the hose by hand. the product quality is good, i dont see much hp gain but it does improved the throttle respond.

They're Wrong. It DOES do Something......
After I purchased this, I posted the link to ME's site and received a couple of "...oh, those don't do anything." statements.
They're wrong. No extra HP, but the spool time for my OEM turbo has been improved a whole lot. No 300 mS delay waiting to pass the guy in front of me. Throttle and go.
Buy one.
One star off for Fit and Finish. I cleaned off the paint overspray in side and polished it a bit. Should have been delivered that way.
