I put this CTS Blow off valve kit on my 2013 beetle turbo. Sounds great and that's about it. I did the installation exactly how the trashy instructions said. Car is now building less boost in the low end and doesn't hold boost in the top end. Had a local European performance shop take a look at it and replaced the rubber gasket to see if it would fix it. Still didn't. Car is dripping a little oil from it and not building full boost now. This part is going in the trash and I should have just bought the electronic diverter valve.

Great Product

This is a link to a great install video. Only difference is the diverter valve is found on the top towards the front of the car, if you have a mk6 golf r, where in the video it is underneath. I’m assuming the guy in the video has a gti

Mods needed, but works
Things to note before buying, this kit is not complete.. The pcv adaptor for vacuum is a different size than the solenoid and valve, the hose provided fits the valve and solenoid but not the adapter, you will need to pick up some 1/8 hose and a 1/8-1/4 adapter (if you get a 4 foot section and adapt close to the firewall it can still look professional, routing from right to left and then back instead of back to left, then down.
The instructions for hose orientation are super unclear as well, labels would be cool instead of just picture matching.
All in all though, it's installed and sounds great so it didn't fail. -
Go with the diverter valve instead.
Yes this BOV makes an audible sound. A very loud one indeed. I have been running mine for a while now but I keep get turbo underboost codes. Have this professional looked at and they ran tests, turns out it leaks. No it's not setup wrong and no it's not the vacumn hoses. All those have been redone and refit with better silicone hoses. All the gaskets were sealed with gasket sealer and still turbo codes popping up. If you plan on making real upgrades get the diverter valve instead. It will hold your boost longer and rated for higher boost. Not worth the sound for an underperforming turbo.

BOV on MK6 GLI
Install was a little involved with the bov, well worth it for the sound! The CTS bov is high quality especially when compared to the stock valve. I have the DSG in my GLI and I think the sound is just as good as with a stick, if you want some heads to turn you have to go with this

Sounds great!!
Installation went well.
Directions were a bit vague as to where the hoses needed to be run.Thank you,

Mk6r bov
I had to unbolt the top section to rotate it, but then one of the Allen screws stripped out. Other than that, it's a great bov. No CEL as promised and I don't notice a difference venting open air.

great sounding blow off valve!

Great sound. Does not sound as loud as video if you do not have the aftermarket intake.
