Description
Intake upgrade is an important stage to complete in producing more power from your engine. By allowing more optimal air to flow in the combustion process you would gain more HP for ultimate performance.
AWE tuning’s 4.2L S-FLO carbon intake system for the 08-12 S5 is engineered to provide more airflow for greater power gains while not sacrificing gas efficiency. The high-flow design uses a 4-ply Nomex®, fluorosilicone lined, steel wire reinforced silicone air tube material to replace the restrictive factory hose.
This high-flow silicone tube allows cool air to travel freely to the motor making more efficient air through the inlet, center section, and outlet of the tube. The silicone hose utilizes a molded lip to ensure a proper seal on both the S-FLO carbon air box (or factory airbox) and throttle body for longevity and reliable performance. The S-FLO Intake includes all necessary installation hardware, and the proprietary S-FLO Filter, detailed below.
The S-FLO Filter
The S-FLO Filter is the largest filter that can fit within the factory airbox, and also our bespoke filter of choice for all 3.0T / 3.2L S-FLO packages. The AWE S-FLO Filter is a proprietary, washable, dry media, large cylindrical filter that has been tested to allow up to 34% more airflow than the factory paper filter.

S-Flo
Grabbed an s Flo intake for the 4.2 motor in my s5, aside from the obvious intake sound increasing at high RPM, the exhaust getting louder in the same respect. This system did make for sharper throttle response and better fuel economy (under normal operation)
The only thing I would say is that the air inlet duct could use for a tab or two on the sides like the factory one so it doesnt bounce around as much. But it looks incredible & I love it. Thanks guys 4.9/5 !
