Are they worth it? Ehh
I purchased the AWE resonated downpipes because I noticed that the flex joints in my stock downpipes were broken. I already had the AWE touring exhaust so why not have the whole exhaust AWE, right? The install was very easy with the AWE exhaust tool. If you don’t have that, you’ll be screwed. Not saying it’s impossible to do it without it but why spend anymore time under your car when you don’t need to.
First impressions were WOW, it was so quiet! I was used to the car sounding loud with the broken flex joints that when you start the car with the new downpipes, you can’t hear the car (that has since changed with the downpipes breaking in). I drove it on a long trip breaking in the resonators. The car doesn’t feel any faster. If there was a HP gain it’s single digits and for $1000 dollars, that’s insane. A better investment would’ve been a heat exchanger. Like I said, I purchased the downpipes cause my oem downpipes were broken. If your downpipes are ok, I’d say leave them alone. Also I can’t bring myself to buy oem downpipes when they’re only a few hundred dollars cheaper.
I’ve had the exhaust on for 2-3 weeks now and the resonators have wore in well. It sounds just like it did with stock downpipes but without all the leaks. The cabin doesn’t resonate at highways speeds. Around town, you’re not making any scenes. When you put the pedal down, it really opens up and that’s what makes a good exhaust in my mind. Loud when you want it and quiet when you take your grandmother to brunch. -

love them
Love the sound of these. Not too loud at idle and cruise but open up when I get on the gas

AWE Resonated Downpipe
I have this installed on my A4 B8.5 and its extremely quiet.
I would not recommend unless you want something to sound very similar to stock.
