The 2.7T engine as supplied in the B5 S4 and C5 S6/A6/Allroad was plagued with low-quality plastic after running the coolant pump, they tend to leak and sometimes even explode.  To complicate matters, the pump is located underneath the intake manifold and can take hours to change.  High HP cars don't need it if you're sensible about cooling down the car, in cars that need it it's a great idea to re-locate the pump to an easier-to-reach location.
